CO2 Dress For Climate Change Success

Merry Christmas

So a bunch of Euro-Treehuggers (you remember Europe, that's where they cut down most of the trees long ago. No wonder they're so cranky.) designed this eco-dress. It tells when there is CO2 nearby. The more the carbon dioxide, the brighter the LEDs shine. Breath on it, and it lights-up.

No way could you wear this dress in Congress, it would blind everyone there.

Excuse me for not being very fashion conscience, but it looks like they took the drapes down and sewed some LED Christmas Tree lights on it.

Hello Blogger.
Rmember that you have a reponsability to give credit to the right people:
The project was made by DIFFUS (www.diffus.dk) and not "A bunch of treehuggers".
As a matter of fact we even didn´t know about Treehuggers before they published our project on their site.
So remember that you have a responsability to check your sources !!
Check our homepage (under "press release" to get REAL info about the dress. It is as easy as that !
Diffuses approach is to "blurring the bounderies between sensor technology, physical material,
theory and practice". So our agenda is not at all the one you try to stick on us for your own sake.
What interest us is to make a dress reacting on diverse inputs (datas) retrived in the environment.
and imagine that clothes can adapt to diverse physical contexts, moods etc...Not much to get upset and sarcastic about !
But thanks anyway to advertise for our project.
Concerning Europe as the "where they cut down most of the trees long ago". You are right. We just started to cut long before you. But you do very well
in catching. So make sure you don´t get more crancky then we are.
Finally for you not "reaaly beiing very fashion
conscience". If I would be superficial as you are <i would reply: "normal, you come from Oregon".
But that would be a cheap reply. Again: you are right that it is a dress which has a simple cut. We didn´t want it to look like it comes from a science fiction movie but we wanted to make people relise that small LEDs can soon be a part of street-fashion. For the christmas tree light: hmmm...i lokk forward to get chritmas tree light recting in different patterns depending on where and how many trees get hugged in the beautiful forests of your home state.
Happy holidays from Scandinavia

Hello Treehugger Michel,

I'm certainly not going to fault you for not understanding the total mess that is the English language, as spoken by us Yanks.

A "treehugger" is any environmental wacko. Opps, there goes that language issue again.

Sorry to upset your continental sensibilities, but I don't have any responsibility to do anything I don't wish to do, I'm a political humorist. It's part of this little thing we like to call Freedom. Something else Europe cut down a long time ago.

In the interest of fair play, I did give you credit. Look to the link in "eco-dress" also your picture was give credit. So stop your crying, you big baby.

In the next few days, I will visit your site and then write a second post. I'm sure it will still be sarcastic.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to hear from you soon.

Michel,

English word: "Sarcasm" Danish translation: "Sarkasme".

Just trying to help,

L Ron

Hello political humorist
Good to hear you were just sarcastic. What a releaf.
In fact if you read my last mail again, you would probably discover some ironic stances as well.
I know of course the great sense of freedom promoted in your country, home of the "liberty fries".
To make sure I m understanding your Yanky language I checked on wikipedia:
Treehugers:
"A slang, sometimes derogatory, term for environmentalists".
So again: Diffus is not an environmentalist group.
The misunderstanding is on your side.
BUT if I really can make you happy by serving your sarcastic purposes, then lets proclame it: we ARE an environmentalsit group with a hidden agenda ! We ARE a "bunch of treehugers" :)
After all, sarcasm doesn´t have to serve the cause of veracity. Sarcasm has to do with rage, frustration, feeling of hopelessnes and finally conviction that all means are legitimate in order to achieve its goals. Also use of unfairness.

In many ways your need to express your frustration trough sarcasm is quite understandable: To be witness of the collapse of your great nation as a super power must hurt)

In europe (I found out that ypu love to compare your country with EU), we don´t stress so much about that. And maybe therefore, we
prefer the gentle and more fair use of irony.

Michel
>In the next few days, I will visit your site...
You are welcome

>And then write a second post. I'm sure it will still be sarcastic.
But may be you should give yourself the FREEDOM
to surprise yourselv instead to be sure of something

This coming from a guy that thinks people want to wear lights on their clothing.

Michel you are using the climate change fallacy to bring attention to Diffus in the hopes it will result in future revenue.

You are selling snake oil in the form of a dress.

"To be witness of the collapse of your great nation as a super power must hurt"

Don't blame me. I didn't vote for Obama.

"This coming from a guy that thinks people want to wear lights on their clothing."

Come on now, Chris. You know Euroweenies love that sort of thing. It goes perfect with a hemp man-purse. Especially in mauve. Also, no pollution dress is complete without the perfect accompaniment to the pollution dress - a gay man wearing angel wings as featured on the front page of diffus.uk.

I can't get it out of my head that "diffus" seems a little too close to "doofus." Does that have the same meaning in Danish as it does in The US?

Funny thing. Fiar talked to me after posting this comment. He hadn't read the second one and came up with hemp man purse too. Pretty obvious to me that this must be a truism.
